Greetings Everyone,
We hope you are all having a great week.
We have an important announcement regarding two major topics that have been on the community's agenda recently.
1. Class Balance & Adjustments
To address the ongoing discussions regarding class balance, we have enlisted the help of a trusted veteran player who has extensive experience in Archonia. This individual will be conducting rigorous tests on both the test and live servers.
Based on his feedback, he will present a set of recommendations to the management team, which we will evaluate to implement necessary changes.
Why are we adopting this method?
Because this tester is not currently an active player, he will remain completely objective. He is not personally affected by buffs or nerfs to any specific class. The biggest challenge we faced with previous feedback loops was the lack of consensus among players; one player might label a class "unplayable," while another finds it "balanced and sufficient."
With this new approach, we aim to conduct deeper, unbiased, and data-driven analyses to ensure a fair environment for everyone.
2. Auto-Debuffer & Anti-Cheat Measures
As you know, this has been a heated topic for a long time. While detecting these scripts is theoretically challenging, thanks to our team's dedicated efforts and advancements in AI-assisted detection, we have made significant progress.
As warned in our previous announcement, we are taking zero-tolerance action against confirmed offenders. We have permanently banned the user Holydodge (and his alternate character, Amateur), as our logs confirmed the use of third-party software beyond any doubt.
There are other suspicious accounts under review. However, our logs currently show conflicting data for these users. To strictly avoid false positives or coincidences, we will continue to monitor them closely for a while longer.
New Policy on Public Accusations
We are pleased to see our detection system yielding satisfactory results. Moving forward, we will no longer allow public discussions or accusations regarding cheats/auto-debuffers on public channels (Discord, Forum, In-game Global).
The reasons are:
-
A. Public accusations create a toxic environment and unfairly target the management or other players without proof. If you suspect a player, you must record the suspicious skill cast sequences and submit a formal ticket to us.
-
B. Constant public discussion of cheats inadvertently acts as "free advertising" for these malicious tools and encourages others to seek them out.
3. Return of the Public Ban List
Veteran players of Archonia will remember that until about 1.5 years ago, we maintained a "Public Ban List." We stopped this practice for several reasons:
-
Weaponization of Rules: Players were using the rules as a tool to eliminate competition rather than to ensure fair play.
-
Trolling: Bans were being used as material for harassment and mockery between rival groups, leading to "report wars."
-
Subjectivity: There was constant friction regarding what constitutes an "insult" versus acceptable "slang" or banter, leading to accusations of bias against the management.
Despite the significant energy and motivation drain caused by these issues in the past, we have decided to reinstate the Public Ban List.
We are taking this step with the hope and expectation that our community has matured and will treat this transparency with the responsibility it deserves.
Additionally, in conjunction with this decision, we are making some updates to our In-Game and Discord rules. We will publish these updated standards within a few days.
Thank you endlessly to our players who support us and stand by us in every matter.
The Archonia Team
